MOBIUS ARRAY

The mystery of 3D object with one surface and a single continuous edge was explored by this sculpture's namesake- Augustus Mobius.  The Mobius strip helped develop modern topology - the study of properties of surfaces preserved under deformation such as stretching and bending.  The sculpture creates an array of tubular frames which follow the mobius strip deformation and within which the corners of the tubular array define continuous curves with no beginning and no end.   Thes sculpture is suspended within a tension arm to allow observation from all angles.  The piece is available in silver, metallic copper, and magenta/jade color shift coating.  Including the base and tension arm dimensions are 17" high x 10.5" wide x 6" deep.
