MOBIUS WITH ACRYLIC RING BASE

.The mystery of 3D object with one surface and a single continuous edge was explored by this sculpture's namesake- Augustus Mobius.  The original Mobius was a strip of paper twisted a half turn and then joined at the ends.  This simple surface helped develop modern topology -  the study of properties of surfaces preserved under deformation such as stretching and bending.  My sculpture follows the original strip but as an array of tubular frames which follow the mobius strip deformation within which the corners of the tubular array define continuous curves with no beginning and no end.   

This is the same sculpture as the MOBIUS ARRAY but without the pedestal and tension arm.  I comes with a 4" diameter x 2" high acrylic ring to mount it vertically, or simple lay the sculpture on a table top or other flat surface.

The piece is available in silver, metallic copper, and magenta/jade color shift coating.  Placed in the acrylic ring dimensions are 12.5" high x 10.5" wide x 6" deep.
